PV buttress at Locust Hill / 2. Big and bigger tracker

On the right is the largest commercially available PV tracker. To its left is the much larger, more capable tracker designed and fabricated by Jerry Lilyerd. Jerry's tracker has been galvanized and is now (August, 2002) at Locust Hill, ready to be installed. (The length of the horizontal member above the chain is 45".) This particular prototype, per one of several designs that could also serve , utilizes parts that are either off-the-shelf or easily fabricated. It will gain both a high degree of accuracy and excellent durability with low maintenance. (Click here for another picture of the tracker.)
