What follows is the briefest of outlines, being undertaken in the hopes of conveying the diversity and at least a taste of the richness. |

| Our location does not have a good wind resource. However, two men, Pat Kelble and Eric Lang, will be testing two different innovative wind turbine designs at Locust Hill trying to show the way to generate electricity effectively from wind in areas like ours. | ||

Electricity generated by photovoltaics (PV) will play an important complementary role in our Locust Hill energy strategy. When the wind is not blowing the sky is often at its brightest. Several exciting developments are underway now. Chad Lampkin and Jerry Lilyerd have been working closely with us for years and will soon (April, 2002 we expect!) be here to construct a 13' x 16' PV arrayatop a 50' towercomplete with accurate sun tracker. More recently, William Mook has been working (isn't there a word that connotes more intensity than merely "working?") with the modest intention of making much more elecricity from a given area at much reduced cost. link to William's web site |
